Frequently Asked Questions

These FAQs are here to quickly answer your most common inquiries regarding the different accreditation schemes (including CPCS, NPORS, IPAF, and ALLMI), course requirements, minimum age, certification timelines, payment options, and the practicalities of attending or canceling a course, ensuring you have all the essential details for your professional training journey.

CPCS is a more widely recognised scheme within the construction industry, requiring candidates to complete formal training and testing at approved centre . NPORS offers a more flexible and often more cost-effective alternative, allowing training and testing to be carried out on-site by approved instructors.

While CPCS is seen as the industry standard for large construction contractors, NPORS, especially when the card carries the CSCS logo, is increasingly accepted across construction, logistics, agriculture, and other sectors.

For most accreditations, the minimum age is 16. If you are completing any training or testing through CITB, candidates under the age of 16 must complete a parental consent form at the time of booking.

Most accreditations allow up to 14 working days for cards to be delivered. Full payment must be received before cards can be posted to your chosen address. Upon completing a course, an achievement letter can be provided if you need proof of training before the physical card arrives.

All courses can be paid for in instalments, but the full balance must be paid at least 10 working days before the course start date.

This will vary dependant on the card you hold. For detailed information, please contact our knowledgeable admin team.

If you are completing an operator course, you will need to bring a hard hat, high-visibility clothing, and steel toe-cap boots or wellies. (Please bear in mind the weather — we operate in all conditions, so suitable clothing is essential.)

All CITB and CPCS courses require a form of ID – preferably driving licence or passport. If you don’t have photographic ID, a waiver form will need to be completed prior to coming to site.

Payment must be made at least 10 working days before the course date. Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation with details on how to make your payment.

Payment can be made by card over the phone or via BACS transfer. Please note that training will not take place if payment has not been received.

As per our terms and conditions, if a course is cancelled 10 days or more before the start date, there will be no cancellation charge. If a candidate is unable to attend, the booking can be transferred to another candidate at no additional cost.

If there is a course that you can’t find on our website, please contact our knowledgeable team who will be able assist you further.

Some courses can be carried out on-site, although site requirements must be met and approved before training can take place.

Aurelia also has a purpose-built training centre where all courses are set up for convenience.
