From Monday 2 November 2026, new requirements for in-person theory testing will come into effect for candidates completing IPAF training.
What’s changing?
Currently, candidates who choose IPAF eLearning complete their online theory training and test before attending our training centre for their practical training and assessment.
From 2 November 2026, the process will change as follows:
- eLearning remains unchanged:
Candidates will continue to complete their online theory training before attending the centre. However, facial recognition will no longer be required. - The online test will become a practice test:
The test at the end of the eLearning course will no longer count as the official theory test. - An in-person theory test will be required:
All candidates must complete and pass a theory test at our training centre on the day of their booked practical training. - Candidates must pass before proceeding:
Only candidates who successfully pass the in-person theory test will be able to continue with their practical training and assessment. - Candidates who fail must return on another day:
Anyone who fails the in-person theory test will be unable to continue with the course that day. They will need to return on a separate date to retake the test, and full charges will apply.
Why are these changes being introduced?
IPAF is introducing these changes to help prevent training fraud and strengthen the integrity of its training and assessment process.
Please ensure all candidates are aware of these changes before booking or attending their training.
