On November 3rd, General Manager Claire and Lead Training Co-ordinator Chloe attended Suffolk New College for the FutureSkills Fair.
The event welcomed over 3,000 students from local high schools and colleges, along with more than 70 businesses. It was a fun and interactive day that gave students the chance to explore a wide range of career paths across different industries. The fair highlighted the diverse opportunities within the county and inspired young people to think about their future careers and the skills they’ll need to succeed.
Aurelia showcased the exciting training opportunities available for students interested in pursuing a career in operational roles. Visitors to the stand also had the chance to operate machinery through virtual reality, taking control of a 360° excavator simulator, which proved trickier than many expected!
The student who achieved the highest score of the day won a gift certificate for themselves and a friend to visit our site for an exclusive experience morning, where they’ll get behind the controls of real machines with 1-to-1 trainer tuition.
According to the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the UK construction industry will need to recruit around 47,860 extra workers each year between 2025 and 2029 to meet demand across construction roles.
By attending events like the FutureSkills Fair, Aurelia has the opportunity to connect with the UK’s future workforce and showcase the exciting career paths available within the industry.
